Speaking from some experience as I have fought fires mainly bush fires up to 66 in one year.
When the wind is blowing and the fire is crowning fire trails do very little except allow firies to stage a back burn from or escape routs.
Kacy...If you are protecting your house that backs on to bush with a garden hose in oncoming fire front with 3o knott winds then you could very likely die. you will have much reduced water pressure from tankers continuously drawing water from streets away. You may not get water at all and forget trying to get enough water up too roof sprinklers. You may have a thousand embers covering your house every minute or worse. Even if you are in peak physical health you can still be overcome with smoke and heat.
Many people have had the best intentions but sadly end up dead.
