Best Practice in cancer trials is always to trial with and against the best available therapy. If Cisplatin is used with the Her-vaxx, then Cisplatin doesn't effect the immune response.

It concludes :evidence suggests Cisplatin can favorably modulate the immune system, both in isolation and in concert with emerging immunotherapies.
