aldi sitting at about 10% mkt share
say it buys coles with 30% grocery mkt share, excluding WES 20% holding, the net Aldi grocery mkt share in the new coles/aldi bolt on if bought would be about 20-25%
think this would take their 'approximate' overall mkt share if allowed by accc with the new bolt on to be about 30-40 % approxunately.
they might have to sell parts of to get it approved convenience or liquor maybe to metcash.
dyor.
anything over 50% mkt share in any industry might be considered anticompetitive ie not in consumers best interests long term
whilst not shopping there much aldi is the best thing hapened to aust its opened up choice and provided competition in the mkt place and helped lower prices and shoppers grocery bill
they are a good alternative nothing wrong with their fruit vegies and milk
the prices arnt bad too.
