Phew! From IQE's perspective, they had little to lose with acquiring. If they hadn't acquired, they opened themselves up to others utilising the technology, and effectively throwing away or risking any developments they've made over the past few years that leveraged off Translucent technology.
Will the market respond, or just yawn? Bids so far suggest the latter....
