Also one other thing, I know bromine and iodine are very reactive. But their chemistry completely changes when they become ions. This is the same reason why we don't just get exploding water when looking for lithium in brine - lithium metal is extremely reactive but lithium ions are not. As with all of this, please correct me if I'm wrong, I make mistakes like other people and I want to to be corrected.
