Got in touch with the company today through Peter Williams and asked about some of the concerns that were raised on the threads yesterday.
I'm a relative newbie and lucky that I haven't been through the long, hard times, people go through with some companies, and which some seem to have been through with ANW. Something I was trying to get a feel through with MIKESZ- I certainly follow the man and really love his posts on some of the other threads I'm following... so hope I wasn't taken the wrong way- apologise if I was!
Anyway- back to my communications and I was really happy with the replies from Peter and the fact he took time out from his very busy schedule today, anyway here's a copy of his comments, I find his hot copper insights interesting...
- G2 has been delayed due to the previously wet ground conditions at the site of the new TSF but which have improved significantly in February. We have appointed a new GM Operations and his priority is getting the civil contractor sorted. As indicated in the release yesterday we are working through potential savings for capital and operating costs.
- Mt Cobalt is early stage but drill grades are encouraging. Preliminary met test work will help frame future work, including exploration. If we can pursue a high grade option we won’t need as larger resource, and hence less drilling.
- The comment on timelines is blatantly wrong - four years ago we didn’t have Granville (acquired mid-2016), weren’t pursuing Taronga Stage 1 (actively started late 2015) and weren’t actively exploring Mt Cobalt (commenced mid-2016). I’d argue we have achieved significantly more that our peers over the past three years in particular which reflects in the fact that the share price is up 595% over that same perios and 109% YTD.
I no longer monitor HotCopper given the degeneration in threads, which is unfortunate as until late last year the threads were constructive from both sides.
