In any case, director selling, in particular, CEO selling, is almost never a good thing, regardless what the explaination is. If I'm the CEO, I would rather borrow the money or sell my other investment to cover whatever the obligation is. This tells me, the CEO believes current upside in his company is less than the potential cost of borrowing or the return of other disposable investment
