You say “They provide the income figures that the store is generating from a company owned store”
As a business owner myself and I was looking to purchase another business, why would I want to look at the figures of a business down the road? I would want to look at the figures of the business I am purchasing. That is good business practice.
A business price is determined by its total revenue minus out going which will give you profit margin. Of course there is some good will and plant and equipment obviously.
So going on what these franchise owners are claiming, why would you offer X amount of dollars for a business that is NOT turning over a profit? I’m not be interested in what the brumbys in the next suburb is turning over, I’m only interested in the turn over of the shop I’m buying and is it making a profit!
Anyway, good luck. Where there is smoke there is a fire.
