Some of them are very hideous especially those with stripes, god what were they thinking, are they blind. What they need is someone with good colour vision and colour coordination in their planning department.
Really they only make a few models that Im interested in.
ES335, Les Paul models, Some SG models, I dont like their acoustics much.
I think some of the other big name builders may end up the same way in the near future. I was talking to some people that own quite a good music store some time back. They were telling me the big name makers like Fender and Gibson but not limited to require the store owners to keep large amounts of stock. I was told that one of the big makers requires $30,000 aud worth of their products to be kept on the walls of the shop. Multiply that by 3 or 4 big makers and that shop would have to be moving a lot of stock to make that work. I think the big makers need to dial back their requirements.
I think the future of guitar makers may be smaller makers and even bespoke makers that dont charge the earth.
Really I would expect to pay $2000 aud for a well made guitar which has some custom stuff on it.
Big makers need to rethink their business plans I think.
