Well it couldnt be Telstra (competition), or 2Degrees (financial constraints), and i think even Trustpower would have have difficulty finding that much money, and have no idea who else might be bidders with that sort of money other than PE.
I would think PE would lose interest with NZ being sold off, because that would have been the first major step they would have taken to unlock value. Perhaps they think they can make quick profit selling Australian parts to Spark once the group is unburdened from competitions concerns in NZ.
Could be a big overseas Telco with no current interests in the region (i have no idea specifically).
