as a technologist I always get a bit suspicious of "10x faster" claims from anyone (not specifically ragging on A3D).
For a start ..... if it's an accurate measure of speed improvement ..... it is an awfully "round" figure and th rounder the figure ..... the bovine excrement detected factor goes up exponentially.
In addition ..... for additive manufacture (3d printing specifically) you can always crank up the speed of your printer but there are sacrifices in quality, mechanical properties of end product.
e.g "My new car is 10 times faster" might be true but without the addition of "but it's uncontrollable at that speed and the engine only lasts 5 seconds at that speed before throwing a rod through the block" ....... it might be construed as misleading.
"10x faster" .... means nothing, hell I can crank my FDM 3d printer at home much faster too ..... I don't for a host of good very good reasons ..... so to mean something apart from Buzz you have to say "10x faster with no loss in quality" ...... then it actually means something.
....... this is also why I don't work in "sales and marketing", I'd starve !!!! ;-)
